Looking back, I was fascinated with drinking herbal soups given to me by my grandmother. That was how I was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine when I was younger. I grew up in a Cantonese family. My grandmother used to boil delicious herbal soup every day without fail to serve the family. These have become a norm. As they were saying, "The Cantonese would rather drink soup than eating rice". The culture of having soup is deeply rooted in us as a family.
My grandmother enjoys sharing the benefits of herbs and the ingridients she uses to cook the soup or the reason she made that particular soup that day. As a child I will listened to her diligently. For example she will add some Poria and Barley in the soup to remove excessive dampness from our body during rainy season or some Astragalus root to enhance our immune system.
Over the years, I have gained interest in learning more about Chinese herbs and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) related. I believe TCM helps to treat and regulate various health conditions from a holistic approach. As i go deeper into it, learning and understanding the goodness of it, the more confident I feel and know that I am on the right path to pursue my passion in learning and practicing.
I graduated with Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (Honours) from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and completed clinical training at TCM Hospital of YangZhou in JiangSu Province. Over five years of clinical experience in Acupuncture and prescribing herbs for Internal Medicine. Throughout the years, I have developed a strong interest in treatment for women and their health conditions.
I'd do my best to provide reproductive healthcare treatment for women of all ages. From a mother to daughter, from physical to emotional health issue. To create a safe and comfortable space for women to receive treatment. That was when the idea to partner up with Ruby, Suki and Janie came about. I am happy and grateful we shared the same dream and aspiration. It was fun and exciting to work together. The power of all-women team is real! What I learned thus so far; “Staying flexible and open to new possibilities can lead to great things.”
And I hope you would be open to experience this alternative medicine that is available for you now, which we at Moonrise more than happy to assist you on your well-being.
